Shri Partha Samal is presently working as Faculty Member in the cadre of Executive Director in NIA, Pune.
A Post Graduate in Political Science from Delhi University, he joined LIC in February 1988 as a direct recruit AAO. He has been, since then discharging various assignments which include ABM(S), Sr./BM(I/C), Manager(Sales), Marketing Manager, Divisional Manager (P&GS) and Sr.DM (I/C), RM(CC), Secretary (SDC), RM(Mktg.) in different deep rural to semi-urban/urban and metro centres that includes Sundergarh, Bargarh, Rourkela & Bhubaneswar in Orissa, Jalpaiguri, Kolkata in West Bengal & Cities like Chennai, Nagpur, Pune & Mumbai.
He also had an Overseas assignment for about 3½ years as General Manager, LIC International Baharin that provided an exposure to Insurance Industry at International level.
His deputation to LIC Housing Finance Ltd. as Head of Marketing (GM) for 3 years further widened his exposure into new domain of Housing Finance.
Shri Samal has participated as Guest Speaker in Number of Seminars organized by Institute of Chartered Accountants, Management Institutes and also National Insurance Academy, Pune etc.
He had an opportunity to attend training at international institutions like Asian Institute of Management, Phillipines, Centre of Sales and Communication, Singapore & also at NIPM, Kolkata & ISB, Hyderabad, etc.
He is an Associate from Insurance Institute of India & also has cleared the CIS (Certified Insurance Supervisor) from BIBF, Bahrain, a qualification required for Regulators in Middle East.
Swimming, listening to music and travelling are few of his hobbies.
