Experience    

Worked in two industries(M/s Ester India Ltd and M/s Gujarat Heavy Chemicals Ltd) as Process Engineer from October 1987 to January 1989.

Joined Loss Prevention Association of India Ltd (LPA) as Asstt. Technical Officer in 1989 and worked there till May 2006 (last position: Asstt. Manager). Work field in LPA included Fire Loss Investigations, In-plant Training Programmes on Safety and Loss Prevention, Risk Inspections, PML Assessment, Safety Audit of Industries, Petrochemical      

Insurance Rating, Risk Management Studies, Writing Articles for LPA Newsletter.  

On merger of LPA with General Insurance Companies moved to M/s Oriental Insurance Company Limited (OICL) as Asstt. Manager in May 2006 and continued there till Dec 2023.Last position held in OICL was Chief Manager in GM’s Office, Mumbai. Work field in OICL included Underwriting and Claims of Fire, Engg, Marine Hull & Cargo. Also Risk Inspections, PML Assessment, Fire Loss Inspections, Technical support to the Business Development team.    

During the course of the employment with LPA and OIC got an opportunity to visit more than hundred industries viz, Aluminium

Smelters, Steel Plants, Power Plants, Chemical Plants, Refineries,  Spinning Mills, Cement Plants, Nuclear Power Plants, Engineering Industries etc.in connection with Risk Inspection, PML Assessment, Fire Loss Investigations and Safety Audit

Safety Aspects of Tank Farms and Fire Safety in Spray Painting Operations published in LPA Newsletter in 2005 and 2006 respectively.
