National Insurance Academy
Established in 1980 by Public Sector Insurance companies, the National Insurance Academy (NIA) is a leading institution for learning, education and research in Management, Insurance, Pension, and allied areas not only in India but in the African, Middle East and Southeast Asian region. The Academy started the AICTE approved PGDM in 2010. The course has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and granted equivalence to MBA by AIU. The Governing Board of NIA has Chairman and the Managing Directors of LIC of India, Chairman-Cum-Managing Directors of General Insurance Corporation of India and Public Sector General Insurance Companies, a senior representative of the Ministry of Finance, Government of India along with eminent personalities from the Academia chosen for their distinctive contribution to the cause of Insurance, Education and Finance and in other fields.
PG Diploma in Management
The curriculum consists of 55% core Management subjects like Finance, HR, Marketing, Analytics and Technology along with 45% Insurance Subjects covering Life, Non-Life, Health & Reinsurance subjects. Thus, the PGDM of NIA stands out in comparison with other PGDM Courses of similar nature and gives the student an added advantage of choosing a career in both Insurance and Management. The students also undergo an internship of 8 weeks after the end of the first year. The students are also required to undertake a research project in the second year. The faculty consists of a mix of industry experts and academicians. The campus is spread over 32 acres with all modern facilities like hostel, library, gym, swimming pool, etc.
